Why strength and yoga together?
Â
In more than 20 years of teaching yoga and strength training, Iâve found that most people are either flexible or strong, and many are neither. You need both. Mobility makes strength training safer and more effective, and strength makes many yoga poses possible.
Yoga Body, Strong Body gives you a solid foundation in both, so you can:
- Build body awareness and control your own bodyweight
- Increase your flexibility and mobility
- Get stronger in ways that carry over to your yoga practice and daily life
- Learn to practice confidently on your own
What you'll get
Â
- Four foundational classes combining the key principles of strength training with essential yoga poses
- Bonus: Sun Salutation A breakdown, step by step, plus how to bring strength training into your everyday life
- Practice anywhere on your phone or computer through the app
- Go at your own pace. Pause, replay, and take your time in every pose
I've lived this
Â
There was a time I trained only with my bodyweight. I worked up to a one-arm push-up, a pistol squat, and a pull-up, and my yoga practice got stronger along the way. Just as important, yoga kept me injury-free while I trained. That balance is what I want to teach you.
What clients say about training with me
Â
Â
Jesica
âSiobhĂĄn is an incredible trainer! Weâve worked together for a few years. Sheâs taught me to listen to my body, how to push it smartly, and to tame my internal reckless abandon. We work on strength and conditioning training, in addition to weekly yoga sessions focusing on poses to support my strength training, and a little yin for when itâs needed.
SiobhĂĄn has worked hard to create a comprehensive training program to keep me âin the gym,â having fun, making gains, and avoiding injury. She continues to be a vital influence in my overall health and wellbeing!â
Terry
âBalance aptly describes SiobhĂĄnâs training philosophy and targets the reason why she is my yoga instructor. SiobhĂĄn has been guiding me in yoga for several years. I have struggled with mobility restrictions and limited flexibility. Yoga effectively counterbalances the high-tension, high-intensity barbell and kettlebell training I engage in regularly. It not only relieves physical and mental stress, but with regular practice it has improved my balance, postural awareness, joint health, and overall flexibility.
What sets SiobhĂĄn apart as a personal trainer is not only her understanding of how yoga can facilitate recovery, but, most valuable, her unique ability to artfully and skillfully instruct and cue with an eye for form. Yoga is quite challenging for me; SiobhĂĄnâs individualized guidance, patience, and vast experience always make it a rewarding experience.â
